At the end of 2020, Outforia released its 2021 Adventure Index ranking the 50 states based availability of various outdoor activities, and four southern states made the top 10: Virginia (no. 5), North Carolina (no. 6), Florida (no. 9) and Texas (no. 10). Expanding it further, three additional southern states rounded out the top 15: Missouri (no. 13), Georgia (no. 14) and Tennessee (no. 15).
